How do I get a book or article that the Anselmo Library doesn't have?

  1. You must be a Quincy College student, instructor, or staff member and be signed up for a Quincy College library card.
  2. Check your local public library to see if they have the material you need.
  3. Finally, you can request an interlibrary loan (ILL) if you find a book or article that you need from another library by filling out the appropriate request form, or by coming into the library and filling out a paper form. Please note that a total of three requests are allowed at one time.

What do I need to know about the book or article?
The more information you have, the faster you will receive your material. For a book, you should know the title, author, and year of publication; for a journal, you should know the name of the journal, title of the article, the author, volume, year, and page number(s).

How long will it take to get the book?
It can be as quick as a few days or as long as a few months. It will depend on the type of material, the availability, the location, and its status.

How much does it cost?
This service is often free for students, staff, and instructors. If the lending library or institution charges a fee and the costs are reasonable, Quincy College Library will accept the charges.

How do I get my item?
We will notify you by the method you have provided on the form - either by phone or email. You must then come into the library to pick it up.

How long do I get to keep ILL materials?
That is determined by each lending library. You need to return the book to us in enough time for us to send it back by the due date. You will be charged $1.00 a day for every day your ILL book is overdue. You will also be responsible for additional fines if the borrowed material is lost or damaged.
